We love this initiative that Woolworths Educational Programmes and MySchool are doing. They run an annual competition on Teacher’s Day, celebrating teachers who make a difference in their student’s lives.
This year’s winners

Woolworths Educational Programmes and MySchool have announced that Ms Phumla Matomela, a teacher at Port Elizabeth’s Emafini Primary School, is the overall national winner in their 2016 Teacher’s Day competition. The annual event, now in its sixth year, promotes UNESCO’s World Teacher’s Day on the 5th of October by highlighting the immense difference that teachers can make in young lives.
A record number of South African learners from across the country entered the competition to nominate an awesome teacher that has made a difference in their lives. A panel of independent judges took on the task of evaluating more than 13 000 nominations by high school and primary school learners from across the country. They selected 4 finalists in each of the primary and high school categories.
