We spoke to Dirk Mellema, Director of IT Innovation & Administration at St Patrick’s College to hear how Wonde has improved their user management.
About St Patrick’s College
Set on a 30-hectare campus near Mount Currie Nature Reserve, St Patrick’s College is an independent school educating learners from 4 months to Matric.
Additionally, the college celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023 and is a proud member of ISASA and the IEB.
The Strain of Manual User and Data Management
Like many schools, St Patrick’s relies on Microsoft and Google domains for communication and learning. However, as both the sole IT staff member and a full-time teacher, Dirk faced a big challenges:
- Creating and removing user accounts.
- Migrating learners to their new grades each year.
- Configuring new team groups and devices.
However, this work was especially heavy at the start of each school year and took up valuable teaching and preparation time.

- MyLogin Lite – simplifying learner logins.

Overall the improvement has been significant:
- Time saved: Edusync now streamlines the process of adding and removing users, cutting down the workload for IT staff.
- Easier logins for learners: Once MyLogin is operational, it is expected to make student logins easier, particularly for lower grade levels.
- Smooth integration: MyLogin connected seamlessly with existing systems.
- Support that makes a difference: The school highlighted how helpful Wonde’s team has afterward through setup and roll-out.
“Implementing Edusync streamlined the process of adding and removing students, therefore reducing my workload. Once MyLogin is fully operational, it will make logins much easier for lower grades.”
Looking Ahead: Optimising IT with Wonde
For Dirk, Wonde has already delivered significant improvements by freeing up their only IT staff member to focus more on teaching and less on admin.
Additionally with MyLogin Lite soon fully implemented, technology access will become even more seamless for learners. As a result long manual work became automated and supported through the platform.
