✨ It’s Time to Announce the Innovator of the Year 2025, Proudly Brought to You by Acer Africa!

After six months of gathering entries and celebrating bold ideas, we’ve been inspired by the vision and creativity driving education forward. Congratulations to Romy Jordan, who will be heading to Bett UK 2026 with all expenses paid! 🎉

About Romy’s Innovation
Romy Jordan, a passionate Grade 4 teacher from South Africa, believes learning should be meaningful, personal, and future-focused. Her innovation brings this philosophy to life by transforming lessons into immersive experiences.

When teaching grid referencing, instead of relying on worksheets, Romy turned to Minecraft Education, giving her students a dynamic, playful environment where they learned to navigate using coordinates, collaborate, solve problems, and reflect on their strategies. What began as a simple game became a powerful tool for 21st-century learning skills like creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and metacognition.

Her approach shows that innovation in education doesn’t always require big technology; it starts with bold ideas and the question: “How can I make this more meaningful today?”
