As educators we all know technology has changed our lives and lessons in the past 10 years. We replaced OHPs with Smartboards, generated online report cards and if you were brave you posted homework on Google Classroom. But nothing is quite like the digital transformation brought on by COVID-19.

At least the pandemic hasn’t stopped us from making memes
Teachers are getting especially creative, breaking out of their comfort zones with self made videos, PowerPoints with voice overs, podcasts, live feedback quizzes, chat rooms and online meet and greet or Q&A sessions. All to keep their students busy, engaged, and continuing their learning journey during lockdown. It’s so inspiring to see how teachers have reacted to this unprecedented situation!
And the reaction from students has been inspiring too! We’ve seen hundreds of students using Code4Kids every single day, without any prompting from their teachers! These students are teaching themselves to code through tutorial videos and our step-by-step guided lessons.
But we’ve gone a step further:
Code4Kids allows teachers to join students on a specific task they are struggling with (the video below shows how in more detail). No webcam, voice over or videos needed, just logon and help your student work their way through each task.Â

With so many students learning to code every day, and with so many features to make your life as a teacher as easy as possible, now is the perfect time to get your students coding from home. Get in touch with our team if you need help getting started.
It’s taken a pandemic for us all to utilise the technology we have to its full potential. It’s taken a pandemic for us to realise how important coding and creating this tech is going to be for our future generations. At Code4Kids we are teaching teachers to teach coding in (and now outside) the classroom by creating students with the confidence to try coding in the future. I couldn’t think of a better skill to have in this uncertain world that lies ahead!
