Q1: Why has the d6 group developed the d6 Connect application?
d6 group understand the importance of keeping parents informed about what is happening within the school their child is attending.
The d6 School Communicator has achieved major success over the last 9 years and d6 group realised the need for more capability to ensure the information that is communicated is confidential and specific.
The new d6 Connect application was developed primarily to address these shortcomings and now enable both integration with the entire d6+ product suite (admin, curriculum, finance, communication and cashless) and also allow schools to create private channels with more controlled access to the information they communicate.
In short, the new d6 Connect application could be seen as the new d6 School Communicator on steroids.
Q2: How does child and parent-specific content work?
Schools that use our d6+ modules (administration, curriculum, finance, communication and cashless) will have the capability to share child-specific information to the parents. Including marks, discipline, absenteeism, school fees status, cashless payments and also the ability to update the information of both child and parent.
Because our d6 Connect application has authentication capability, we can now distribute much more child-specific sensitive information to the parent to ensure they are always kept up to date.
Q3: Please explain the new cashless component.

Simplify the reconciliation process in the school’s finance office
Through using our d6+ finance module and our d6 Connect application, d6 now enables parents to pay for school fees, specific school projects and on-campus spending. We aim to fully de-cash schools and also easy the school’s financial reconciliation process through our integrated finance module.
Thus, if a parent pays for anything through d6 Connect, the transaction will automatically be reconciled against the correct debtor’s account. Automated receipting will also take place, saving a significant amount of time and hassle.
Lower transaction costs
We understand that the management of cash is expensive and the current options available to facilitate transactions can be costly – especially given the high % fee charged and that there is no cap on the fee.

Multi-platform communication
Our d6+ Communication module is capable of communicating either via email, SMS or the d6 Connect app. Schools can use a blend of the different platforms to ensure all their parents will get the communication.
Multiple community engagement
Our d6+ Communication and d6+ Cashless modules can now also be used by churches, clubs, residential estates and other community organisations. This allows parents and other members within a community to receive all their relevant information on d6 Connect, avoiding the need to manage multiple apps.
Advertising opportunities
We also enable community organisations to advertise on the d6 Connect application and a portion of the advertising income is shared back to the school, church or club to offset the cost, and thus, create a sustainable funding solution.
