Can Food Do That? How a Bespoke School Food Service Alleviates Parent Frustration and Furthers Education

SchoolAdvisor recently sat with CCM Facilities Management to find out about their offerings to schools, specifically their new school food service. Schools are facing increasing dietary regulations; to which not all parents have the capacity to pack lunchboxes accordingly. CCM understands the need for children to receive nutritious food.

We chatted to Alex Fischer to hear how their new food service product will help solve the dietary ‘restrictions’ problem, alleviate parent frustration and help learners reach their full potential.

Q1: What services does CCM offer?

CCM offers:

  • Facilities Management
  • Catering
  • Cleaning Services
  • Gardening Landscaping

We have been an established company since 1997, contracted by companies such as Eris Property Group, Growth Point Properties, First National Bank, Jacaranda FM, Mcdonalds, Studio 88. We continue to do our utmost to determine what our customers really want from their cleaning service provider. This allows us to tailor-make our services to your specific needs.

CCM has provided food services to companies such as Studio 88 and Larimar; focusing on face-face client relations and excellence.

Q2: What new service are you launching to schools?

We are launching a bespoke food service to meet the dietary and cultural requirements specific to that school.

Q3: What makes this food service stand out?

CCM takes an artisanal approach to food services, sourcing fresh, superior-quality ingredients and wherever possible, use local and smaller suppliers. Our food experts design site-specific solutions which cater to your changing needs. And because we’re passionate about food service, we recruit and train only individuals who are as enthusiastic about service as we are.

We want to come in and make a complete change to the menu so that there is a whole shift paradigm in the end-users so that they’ll experience a real difference.

Q4: How does it benefit the school?

We aim to meet the dietary requirements set out by the school which in turn means learners are getting the right nutrients which affect their overall well-being and performance.

Schools also have a finite amount of revenue and can’t generate more income. Partnering with one service provider who provides everything is more affordable and effective.

Q5: How does it benefit the parent?

This food service relieves the pressure of packing their child’s lunchbox in accordance with the dietary “restrictions” that schools have set in place. Further, parents can be at ease knowing that their children are receiving delicious, healthy meals at school.

Q6: How does it benefit the child?

To name a few:

  • Children love change
  • Fresh, nutritional, appealing food
  • No comparing lunch boxes
  • No carting around of food all-day

Q7: What would a school need to introduce this food service?

Schools need to break away from conventional thinking! And then call us so we can spend time on the school to assess their needs through surveys with the children, parents and school staff.
